This plate was spotted in Red Bank on May 22, 2010. It features a red “Kyleigh’s Law” sticker top left hand corner. Starting on May 1, 2010, this sticker is required on both license plates of a vehicle driven by a driver under the age of 21 with a probationary license..It is removable and affixed with Velcro. Some critics say the stickers could make young drivers targets.

Note that this particular plate has an illegal license plate frame. If you have a vehicle registered in New Jersey, be sure that the license plates are not covered with any frame. You can save yourself the expense of a ticket!

This 7 Digit vanity plate was spotted in Trenton back in March of 2007. It is in an ABC1234 format, but New Jersey never got past ADJ9999 and doesn’t use leading zeros.

This week we take a look at a 2004 3M Discover NJ History Prototype.

First a bit of background. The Discover NJ History plate was first introduced in 1997. In 2001, the MVC changed vendors for reflective sheeting from 3M to Avery. The Avery sheeting did not hold up well, as was experienced in other states and provinces that used it. In 2003, the MVC switched back to 3M.

This plate was produced for testing and approval by the MVC in cooperation with 3M.  There are various notations on the back of the plate (see photo below) that show that this is no ordinary sample.

This Conquer Cancer vanity plate was spotted in Hadonfield, Camden County back in August of 2008. It is no doubt owned by the biggest ABBA fan in New Jersey.

This 2007 base New York Press plate was spotted on 33rd Street between 8th and 9th Avenues on Sunday.

Looks like the first spotting of the boxless NYP plates.
